This week Google announced a new Android app security initiative named Bouncer, to help combat the large amounts of malware that exist in the Google Marketplace. Google has come under considerable criticism in the past, as it doesn’t curate the Marketplace in the same way that Apple does for the App Store. As a result there have been many incidents of vindictive apps stealing user information when compared with Apple’s platform. The extreme ease in which developers can sign up and submit an app has done nothing to help the issue, but finally, it seems that Google is heading in the right direction with Bouncer…
