To look at, it just looks like an average ball with a cute smiley face on it. It may be small, but this nifty little Gadget is hiding a lot more than what we were expecting…
Sphero is ‘deemed as one of the most keenly anticipated gadgets to hit the UK in 2012, this glowing robotic ball has received nothing but great reviews and we can see why.’
This device has in-built Technology created by NASA, and is compatible with iOS and Android.
Sphero is Bluetooth controlled and can be controlled from distances as far as 50ft. There are currently 6 available Apps & Games for this device, and there are more to be released so the fun with Sphero is only just starting.
The ball itself weighs approximately 168g with dimensions estimated at 7.5cm. The multiple LED inside of the ball produces an array of colours which makes this gadget even cooler. The ball is dust and waterproof and has 3 speed settings; ‘Cautious, Comfy and Crazy’ which allow you to control the ball at whatever pace suits you best. The rechargeable batteries take approximately 3 hours to maintain a full charge and the ball lasts for around 75 minutes constant driving time.
Some of the Apps and Games included are:
Sphero Golf – Your phone is the club and Sphero is the ball
Sphero Draw N’ Drive – Map out a shape on your device and Sphero will follow
Sphero Cam – Capture Sphero in action by using the camera on your device
Etch-o-Matic – Use Sphero to create ‘old school’ masterpieces on your device with an Etch a Sketch style
The Sphero can be used for many things, whether you use it to play Games, interact with your friends or whether you have house pets that you play with. Sphero comes in at just over £100.00, but for a small device that packs a lot of power, I believe this price is worth it.
